Job Summary: This position is responsible for leading the implementation of best practice models and patient care delivery systems and practice standards across multiple locations. Responsibilities include delegating tasks related to investigating and resolving patient, family, and member concerns regarding care and services; facilitating collaboration with physicians, external healthcare providers, and other members of the care team to ensure optimal and safe patient care across the continuum; proactively monitoring resource needs in various clinical areas to ensure appropriate staffing and resource utilization; managing the use and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and medications; ensuring a safe environment for patients and employees; maintaining clinical expertise and providing clinical supervision, competency assessments, and licensing oversight; delegating tasks aligned with scope of practice; and performing clinical duties as needed. Variable Compensation: Yes, 10% annual bonus target. Sign-on bonus available. Essential Responsibilities: Leadership & Talent Development: Creates and advocates for developmental opportunities; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on feedback; partners with leaders and employees to set goals, provide coaching, and drive performance improvement. Leads hiring, training, and succession planning efforts. Stays current with organizational changes, best practices, and industry trends; promotes knowledge sharing. Delegates appropriately, offering support, guidance, and resources while encouraging independent decision-making. Operations Management: Translates business plans into tactical action; oversees work completion and identifies improvement opportunities. Ensures policy and procedure compliance. Aligns team efforts with departmental strategies. Tracks and communicates performance goals. Manages resources effectively across matrixed teams and addresses obstacles to performance. Hospital Administration: Supports patient care operations through timeline management, financial monitoring, reporting workflows, and implementing strategic initiatives. Oversees workplace and patient safety, HR functions (recruitment, performance management), labor relations, training, quality, and risk management. Ensures continuous survey readiness and regulatory compliance. Develops and manages departmental budgets. Care Delivery Oversight: Leads operations in a 24/7 environment, collaborating with physicians and stakeholders. Aligns patient care solutions across departments. Oversees multidisciplinary teams, emergency preparedness programs, and nursing services in line with cost, quality, and utilization standards. Process & Technology Improvement: Directs long-term strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, service, and operational efficiency. Implements root-cause analysis and solutions for system improvements. Collaborates with leadership to ensure integration of services across the care continuum. Tracks success through performance metrics aligned with organizational goals. Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensures delivery of safe, standardized care in a 24/7 setting. Holds staff accountable for compliance with legal and regulatory standards (e.g., Nursing Practice Act, Joint Commission, federal and state regulations). Designs and implements evaluation systems for ongoing improvement in patient care across departments. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum five years of experience in patient care delivery. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and minimum five years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a closely related field. Minimum four years of leadership experience, with or without direct reports. Active Registered Nurse (RN) License California (required at hire). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire). Must have several years of Operating Room experience.
