Senior Operations Manager – Semiconductor Accounts (U.S.)

In this role, you will own the end-to-end performance of semiconductor client accounts, with Commissioning (Cx) as the primary service line and Operations & Maintenance (O&M), QA/QC, and Construction Services as supporting scopes. You will be accountable for safe and contract-compliant service delivery, account financial performance, workforce leadership, client relationships, and account growth. This position requires a strong combination of commissioning expertise, operational leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to develop high-performing teams across complex client environments.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the senior account point of contact for client Facilities, Construction, Commissioning/Startup, Procurement, EHS, and other key stakeholders, building strong relationships at the manager and director levels.
• Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and monthly operating reviews covering commissioning performance, KPIs, financials, risks, staffing, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Own account contracts and commercial performance, including scope management, renewals, rate escalations, change orders, and ensuring scope growth is commercially captured prior to mobilization.
• Identify and pursue organic account growth opportunities, including additional commissioning phases, new sites, and adjacent O&M, QA/QC, and Construction Services scopes, while supporting proposals and RFP responses.
• Own commissioning program delivery across assigned accounts, including Cx planning, design and submittal reviews, FAT/SAT witnessing, installation verification, pre-functional and functional testing, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), deficiency management, and turnover documentation.
• Maintain consistent commissioning standards across sites, General Contractors, and contractors, including standardized test scripts, documentation, acceptance criteria, and appropriate Cx independence.
• Manage commissioning schedule and delivery risk against fab construction, startup, and tool-install milestones while maintaining required acceptance criteria and clearly escalating residual risks.
• Oversee supporting O&M, QA/QC, and Construction Services scopes in accordance with contractual requirements, including CMMS discipline, standard work, inspection programs, and construction delivery.
• Drive lessons learned across service lines, incorporating commissioning findings into O&M job plans, QA/QC inspection requirements, and construction delivery practices.
• Provide EHS leadership across assigned accounts through incident prevention, near-miss reporting, audits, employee engagement, and alignment with client safety programs while promoting a zero-harm culture.
• Ensure compliance with client site requirements, cleanroom protocols, applicable ITAR/export control requirements, quality systems, company policies, labor requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Own account P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, monthly financial reviews, variance analysis, corrective actions, and overall revenue and gross margin performance.
• Develop commissioning cost models based on system counts and testing levels and support pricing for new scopes, proposals, and change orders.
• Manage workforce utilization and account costs across engineers and technicians, including labor, overtime, travel, per diem, subcontractors, materials, and contingent resources.
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing with appropriate supporting documentation and coordinate with client Procurement on accounts receivable and DSO performance.
• Hire, lead, coach, develop, and retain Commissioning Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians while maintaining succession plans for critical positions.
• Lead employee goal setting, performance reviews, development planning, compensation recommendations, recognition, and corrective actions in coordination with Human Resources.
• Maintain workforce and staffing plans aligned with commissioning demand forecasts, client ramps, attrition, site qualification lead times, vacancies, and contingent labor requirements.
• Own employee onboarding and site readiness, including pre-employment requirements, badging, EHS and cleanroom orientation, client-specific training, and 30/60/90-day employee check-ins.
• Maintain training matrices and certification requirements, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, confined space, LOTO, OEM, and client-specific qualifications, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
• Develop technical career paths, mentoring programs, CxA certification opportunities, and cross-qualification between Commissioning and O&M personnel based on business and delivery needs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, cost, quality, cycle time, operational consistency, and client value, including tracking and reporting measurable improvements and savings.
• Maintain business continuity, emergency response, and shift coverage plans while ensuring appropriate resources are available to support critical client operations.
• Monitor and report key account performance indicators, including safety, commissioning schedule adherence, deficiency aging and closure, first-attempt test pass rate, on-time documentation turnover, revenue and gross margin, utilization, PAS, retention, time-to-fill, training compliance, and client satisfaction.
• Escalate material safety, schedule, financial, staffing, quality, and contractual risks to leadership with clear mitigation and recovery plans.
• Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

• 10+ years of experience within semiconductor, mission-critical facilities, or comparable complex technical environments, including significant leadership responsibility.
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing large accounts, multi-site operations, service delivery, or P&L responsibility.
• Strong Commissioning (Cx) experience within semiconductor central utility plants, tool installation, cleanroom environments, data centers, or similar mission-critical facilities.
• Working knowledge of Operations & Maintenance, QA/QC, and/or Construction Services and their integration with commissioning delivery.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience managing P&L, forecasting, budgeting, cost controls, pricing, change management, invoicing, and financial performance.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing large technical teams, preferably organizations of 50–200+ employees across multiple sites or shifts.
• Strong client-facing presence with the ability to develop relationships, lead business reviews, resolve escalations, manage contractual expectations, and identify account growth opportunities.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes, FAT/SAT, functional testing, IST, deficiency management, turnover, and commissioning documentation.
• Ability to manage complex staffing requirements, workforce utilization, succession planning, employee development, and technical training programs.
• Strong understanding of EHS leadership, cleanroom protocols, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and risk management within complex industrial environments.
• Familiarity with CMMS platforms, building automation, industrial controls, and related facility management systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel between U.S. client sites as required and obtain applicable client site clearances.

Education / Licenses / Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) through ACG or BCxA preferred.
• PMP, CFM, safety, or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
• Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
