Senior Oracle DBA Data Guard, Azure & Windows Server

1. Oracle database administration
   • Deep experience with Oracle in production: installation and upgrades, patching, performance tuning, backup and recovery, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
   • Strong command of Oracle internals, SQL, and PL/SQL.
2. Oracle Data Guard and high availability
   • Hands-on experience designing and operating Data Guard, including standby databases, redo transport and apply, switchover, failover, and recovery.
   • Ability to test and document recovery procedures against defined RTO and RPO targets.
3. Client DNA platform expertise
   • Direct experience supporting Oracle databases for Client DNA is highly desirable, including DNA-specific architecture, batch processing, interfaces, upgrades, and vendor support processes.
   • Since the database supports a core banking platform, the person should understand the operational impact of database changes and coordinate closely with Client and application teams.
4. Oracle on Azure
   • Experience running and supporting Oracle on Azure IaaS, including VM, storage, networking, and operating system considerations.
   • Understanding of Azure availability zones and regions, backup options, monitoring, and how Azure infrastructure affects Oracle performance and resilience.
5. Production operations and recovery discipline
   • Strong incident response, root-cause analysis, change management, runbook writing, and maintenance planning.
   • Experience coordinating database recovery and DR tests with application, infrastructure, and vendor teams, while protecting data integrity and service availability.

Most important screening distinction: prioritize someone who has personally operated Oracle Data Guard for a production system. Oracle DBA experience alone does not prove they can manage failover and recovery safely. Direct DNA experience is a strong advantage; if it s scarce, combine proven Oracle/Data Guard/Azure experience with the ability to learn and work within Client s DNA support model.

Have experience in Oracle with Oracle running on Windows Server platforms vs. Oracle running on non-windows platforms like Linux or others.
