Description
Senior Packaging Engineering Scientist
Language Requirement: Bilingual in Korean
Position Summary:
This role focuses on new product innovation, process improvement, and optimizing packaging solutions. The position is responsible for managing packaging costs, design, material selection, and conducting analytical testing for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Support new product development and improvements, primarily focusing on packaging specifications, machinery, and processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative packaging solutions considering quality, shelf life, sustainability, cost, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct material testing and packaging application analysis with HQ and suppliers.
Stay updated on packaging sustainability trends, equipment, and regulations, working closely with the regulatory team.
Oversee product excellence management for co-packed products, driving quality improvement and cost reduction.
Maintain QMS for assigned products.
Research and evaluate new packaging materials for cost, sustainability, food safety, and quality.
Monitor market trends and competitor packaging to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
Conduct scale-up activities from R&D to full-scale production.
Work with vendors and suppliers to explore new technologies and provide innovative packaging solutions.
Identify and resolve product defects by applying scientific and technical knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
6-10 years of experience in packaging development within the food manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and testing methods.
Understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
Experience collaborating with packaging suppliers and leading packaging development projects.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.
