Description
Overview:
Electric Boat is seeking two (2) experienced Senior Paralegals to serve as critical team members in the Electric Boat Legal Department, in support of the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines. These Senior Paralegals will provide advanced legal and operational support to the Legal Department during a period of organizational expansion.
The ideal candidates will be highly skilled, proactive legal professionals who thrive in fast-changing environments and can independently manage complex workstreams. The Senior Paralegals will work closely with attorneys, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to support a broad range of legal matters.
The selected candidates will also provide administrative support including calendering, booking travel, expense reporting, timekeeping, invoice processing, and other responsibilities as assigned by the General Counsel or Senior Assistant General Counsels.
Qualifications:
Required:
3+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department, plus 4+ additional years of professional experience.
Willingness and ability to work in office full time
Paralegal Certification from an ABA-approved program or College degree
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance from the Department of Defense
Preferred:
College degree
Experience responding to subpoenas, document requests, and audits
Experience issuing, updating, and releasing legal record holds
Skills:
Ability to work collaboratively within the legal department supporting all legal work, as well as across the business
Proficiency with document management systems and standard business software (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, etc.)
Proficiency supporting e-discovery and related projects
Knowledge and experience with generative AI tools
Flexible, detail-oriented, and proactive with superior organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise and collaborate with attorneys, internal clients, and outside parties
High level of professionalism and discretion, with proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
