Purpose of Job:

Electronics Value Recovery (EVR) is a leading R2v3-certified, ISO 9001/14001/45001-certified IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and Electronics Recycling company based in Baltimore, Maryland. EVR specializes in secure data destruction, electronics recycling, and value recovery from end-of-life IT assets. We help organizations responsibly manage and monetize retired technology through compliant, transparent, and environmentally responsible processes.

The Senior Parts Trader is responsible for high-volume trading of used computer components - primarily RAM, CPUs, and hard drives - across wholesale markets. This role focuses on buying, selling, and structuring consignment ('sort and settle') deals that maximize recovery value and cash flow. The ideal candidate is a seasoned trader with deep industry relationships and an instinct for fast, profitable component trading in the global secondary market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Place Trading & Deal Execution

    • Actively buy and sell used RAM, CPUs, and hard drives in volume across domestic and international wholesale channels.

    • Structure and negotiate consignment / 'sort and settle' agreements with suppliers, ensuring fair settlements based on test and yield results.

    • Execute fast-turnaround transactions and identify arbitrage opportunities across markets.

    • Analyze daily component price movements, demand trends, and surplus inventories to make data-driven trading decisions.

    • Maintain margin discipline and optimize inventory turns across product categories and generations (DDR3-DDR5, Xeon, i-series, Laptop, Desktop, Server, Enterprise, etc.).

    • Travel as necessary.

  • Supplier & Buyer Development

  • Build, manage, and expand a global network of recyclers, brokers, refurbishers and data center partners to buy and sell components from.

  • Negotiate purchase and sales of components.

  • Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, managing communication, expectations, and settlement accuracy.

  • Market Intelligence

    • Monitor global component trends, spot prices, and demand cycles.

    • Benchmark pricing and yields against wholesale market data.

    • Provide feedback to EVR management and operations teams to optimize sorting, testing, and grading strategies.

    • Operational Coordination

      • Collaborate with internal warehouse, testing, and logistics teams to ensure proper part handling, identification, and shipping.

      • Support documentation and traceability requirements under R2v3 and ISO standards.

      • Oversee pricing consistency and reconciliation on consignment transactions.
