Introduction
The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as a Senior Peer Specialist in the Assertive Community Treatment program. In this role, you will work with a trusted and reputable team that has a history of success connecting individuals and their families with person-centered, recovery-oriented services and supports.

Job Summary
MHSADS is seeking a Senior Peer Specialist, with lived experience of having a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis, to join the ACT Program. The ACT Program specializes in engaging individuals in services where they are willing to engage for ongoing behavioral healthcare. The ACT Senior Peer Specialist responds to any location throughout the County (street outreach, hospitals, homes, shelters, drop-in centers, etc.). The program supports individuals in averting psychiatric hospitalizations, incarcerations and episodes of experiencing homelessness. Utilizes the Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery (APPR) and develops crisis plans with individuals in service. Co-leads ACT wellness groups.
The successful candidate:
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of related work experience, along with personal experience as an individual with behavioral health treatment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
