Job Summary:

The Senior Planner/Buyer will manage production planning, material procurement, and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery and smooth production flow. The position works closely with suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, and customer service to maintain inventory accuracy, prevent shortages, and resolve scheduling or material issues. The hire will also help monitor key metrics and support improvements across planning and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Plan and procure raw materials, sub-assemblies components, and services to support production requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
  • Release, prioritize and monitor work orders through the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate with production leadership to resolve scheduling conflicts and material constraints.
  • Manages all future revenue planning and the pre-drive of MRP ahead of customer purchase orders through owning the SIOP process to ensure revenue build plan achievement each month.
  • Expedite critical materials and manage supplier performance to prevent production delays.
  • Analyze material requirement using MRP systems and maintain accurate planning data.
  • Track production progress and adjust schedules to meet changing customer priorities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, shipping, and sales to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Monitor keys performance indicators such as OTD, inventory turns, schedule adherence and supplier performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning, purchasing, inventory management and production efficiency.
  • Prepare report on production status, material shortages, and supply chain risks management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience/certifications in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production control, master planning, revenue management, and inventory management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Manufacturing Planning Systems, primarily MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and MRP-II (Manufacturing Resource Planning).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in purchasing in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience and understanding of requirements in the requisitioning, purchasing, stocking, control and issuance of inventory.
  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs) structures and drawing standards (ASME Y14.x).
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, or equivalent for BOM updates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to compose clear, professional notification emails and procedural instructions.
  • High attention to detail; able to identify inconsistencies.
  • Due to the nature of IntelliPower's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in production planning in a high mix engineered to order electro/mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to develop and improve ERP processes, purchasing support processes, and reporting that allows for clear understanding of different areas for improvement in the SIOP, planning, and material procurement processes.
  • Capable of generating and managing complex spreadsheets and reports utilizing: Microsoft Excel (pivot tables) and Microsoft Word.
  • Capable of reporting to senior management with accountable metric-based goal attainment and clear plans for improvement of processes.
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification is highly desirable.
