Senior Principal Environmental Engineer (On-site)

Our client is seeking a Senior Principal Environmental Engineer to manage the Environmental Group within its Safety, Health, and Environmental organization. Reporting directly to the Safety, Health, and Environmental Director, this position will have overall responsibility for the site’s environmental program and environmental compliance activities.

• Manage a team of five Environmental Engineers responsible for air, solid waste, and water compliance.
• Maintain overall ownership of the site’s environmental program.
• Coordinate directly with governing regulatory agencies.
• Serve as a liaison between the site and the community regarding environmental compliance.
• Monitor regulatory developments and communicate potential impacts to plant leadership.
• Ensure all compliance reports are prepared, reviewed, approved, and submitted ahead of schedule.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve environmental compliance issues.
• Serve as the environmental subject-matter expert during site modification projects.
• Prepare and manage the environmental budget.
• Lead environmental projects and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• At least five years of professional experience in environmental compliance or a related field.
• Previous experience managing employees and projects.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Eight or more years of applicable experience.
• Wastewater compliance experience.
• Environmental permit-writing experience.
• Government compliance experience.
• Previous experience supporting a government client.

Pay Range: $74.00 - $79.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
