The successful candidate will work alongside Government program managers, operational users, engineers, and industry partners to develop mission-focused capabilities that improve decision superiority, electromagnetic spectrum operations, and cross-platform mission integration. This position is ideal for individuals who understand both the operational employment and technical integration of advanced airborne mission systems.

What You'll Do

  • Provide mission engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle, including mission analysis, operational concept development, requirements definition, systems integration, verification, validation, and test
  • Advise Government leadership on Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM) modernization strategies, mission integration, and technical risk reduction
  • Develop and evaluate operational concepts, mission threads, and concepts of employment (CONOPS) supporting EMBM capabilities
  • Develop and refine EMBM requirements, technical specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and other engineering documentation
  • Review contractor engineering products, mission architecture, and technical approaches to ensure compliance with Government requirements
  • Support implementation of Open Mission Systems (OMS), Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), Agile Mission Suite Government Reference Architecture (AMS GRA), and Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) standards
  • Support integration of multi-domain mission systems enabling electromagnetic spectrum awareness, sensor fusion, mission planning, and command and control
  • Participate in laboratory integration, developmental testing, operational testing, and flight test activities, including Ground Test Director duties as required
  • Assess mission effectiveness, identify capability gaps, evaluate technical risks, and recommend operational and engineering improvements
  • Prepare technical assessments, engineering reports, and executive briefings for senior Government leadership.
  • Collaborate with Government organizations, operational users, industry partners, and system developers to rapidly transition new capabilities into operational use

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline and 15 + years of experience
  • An active Top Secret clearance is required
  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition, mission engineering, systems engineering, or advanced technology development programs
  • Minimum of 7 years supporting classified defense programs
  • Experience supporting Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), ISR, C4ISR, Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), or mission systems integration
  • Understanding of mission engineering principles, mission analysis, digital mission engineering, and systems engineering processes
  • Knowledge of RF systems, radar, communications, electronic attack, electronic protection, mission planning, and Air Force command and control architectures
  • Experience supporting developmental, operational, and flight test activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing senior Government and military leadership

Ways to Stand Out

  • Experience supporting Air Force rapid acquisition organizations, particularly Big Safari
  • Experience with Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM), Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), or Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) initiatives
  • Familiarity with kill chain and kill web analysis, mission thread development, and mission-level systems integration
  • Experience integrating Open Mission Systems (OMS), MOSA, UCI, and other open architecture standards across multiple airborne platforms
  • Previous experience supporting flight test, operational experimentation, or rapid capability fielding
  • Military operational experience in Electronic Warfare, Intelligence, ISR, or airborne mission operations is highly desirable
