Position Summary:

The Senior Process Engineer plans, develops and conducts studies relating to equipment productivity improvement, process capability, material handling, methods & process improvement, and building projects: preparing complete proposals and timelines for implementation and follows through to completion on a project management basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership in process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and increase production efficiencies
  • Collaborate with Plant staff, line operators, mechanics, supervisors, and quality control technicians to address and resolve process, system, or equipment issues on manufacturing lines
  • Identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Lead team members in executing capital projects and other process improvement projects
  • Contribute to the development of innovative process improvements with ideas, concepts, collaboration and intellectual property
  • Develop process work instructions and reaction plans; train production workers and quality specialists on methods, inspection, and workflow functions
  • Develop new prototype designs/apparatus/test methods by leveraging appropriate resources to validate performance and demonstrate efficiency of new materials or processes
  • Analyze statistical process control (SPC) data to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Design and implement SPC quality plans for new processes, and improve existing process controls
  • Work with inside and outside resources to procure materials & mechanisms, develop designs, and refine systems involving process improvements, technology enhancements, and ergonomic improvements
  • Collect, organize and analyze data from a variety of sources, make conclusions and recommendations
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and interface effectively with other functional areas
  • Troubleshoot mechanical processes on all production lines with regard to their performance, manufacturability, and competitiveness
  • Lead problem solving teams to identify root cause, implement corrective actions, and verify efficacy 
What we are looking for:

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Process related Engineering fields or equivalent work experience in a production manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years technical experience in a production manufacturing environment
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes using data analytics (i.e., downtime, root cause, maintenance history)
  • Experience developing continuous improvement on manufacturing systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects or significant portions of projects, with limited supervision
  • Provide technical direction to cross functional teams to improve processes
  • Understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to be flexible to support production with occasional weekend schedule

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 3D modeling and reverse engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks

Total Rewards Package: The salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00/Yr. - USD $138,000.00/Yr.


Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
