Job Description

Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. Each year, the company manufactures thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables and systems for power transmission and distribution, as well as medium low voltage cables for the construction and infrastructure sectors. We also produce a comprehensive range of optical fibers, copper cables and connectivity for voice, video, and data transmission for the telecommunication sector.

We are 30,000 employees, across 50+ countries. Everyone at Prysmian has the potential to make their mark; because whatever you do, wherever you are based, you will be part of a company that is helping transform the world around us.

Why You’ll Love This Role:
As a Sr. Process Engineer, you’ll be at the center of a fast‑paced, high‑tech fiber‑optic cable manufacturing environment where your work directly influences product quality, efficiency, and throughput. This is a hands‑on, boots‑on‑the‑ground engineering role — perfect for someone who enjoys being out on the production floor, solving real problems in real time, and working closely with operators, technicians, and multiple departments to keep products moving through the process smoothly and on schedule.

What We’re Looking For:
The Sr. Process Engineer will lead manufacturing process optimization, capital improvement projects, product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume wire and cable manufacturing environment.

This position plays a critical role in improving plant performance through process control, data-driven problem solving, equipment upgrades, material development, and operational excellence initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Monitoring manufacturing processes to identify trends, variation, and out-of-control conditions.
  • Driving corrective and preventive actions to maintain product quality and process stability.
  • Conducting process capability studies and establishing process controls.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting production and quality data.
  • Investigating process drift, recurring defects, and equipment performance issues.
  • Supporting daily production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement:
  • Leading initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Capital Projects & Equipment Improvements:
  • New equipment selection and implementation.
  • Equipment commissioning and startup activities.
  • Production line upgrades and modernization.
  • Capacity expansion projects.
  • Process validation and qualification.
  • Vendor coordination and technical reviews.

Product Development & Commercialization:
  • Working closely with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Customers, to help bring new products from concept into production.
  • Ensuring new products transition smoothly into production while meeting customer requirements and quality standards.

Materials Engineering & Cost Optimization:
  • Evaluating existing and alternative materials to improve both product performance and manufacturing costs.

Quality & Root Cause Leadership:
  • Leading investigations into product and process issues while driving permanent corrective actions.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Train operators and production personnel.
  • Develop work instructions and SOPs.
  • Lead technical meetings.
  • Present project updates to leadership.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D teams.

What We're Looking For:
  • 8+ years of manufacturing Process Engineer experience.
  • 5+ years with a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years with a Master’s degree (Preferred).
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Lean Manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma.
  • DOE (Design of Experiments).
  • SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Process Capability Analysis (Cp/Cpk).
  • Minitab or similar statistical software.
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Epicor, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office / Excel.

Build Your Future with Us:
At Prysmian, your ideas matter. Your growth matters. And the work you do helps connect the world in meaningful, lasting ways. If you’re ready to build your engineering career with a global industry leader — and you enjoy being hands‑on, collaborative, and close to the process — we’d be excited to meet you!
