    Job Description

At Clark Pacific, we don’t just build structures. We create innovative building solutions that are transforming the construction industry.

For more than 63 years, Clark Pacific has been a leader in prefabricated building systems, combining engineering, manufacturing, and design-build expertise to deliver smarter, more efficient construction solutions.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Product Engineer who enjoys solving complex structural challenges, developing new products, and collaborating with clients and project teams.

This is an opportunity to influence the development of our building systems, contribute your technical expertise to project pursuits, and help turn creative engineering concepts into practical, cost-effective solutions.

    What You’ll Do

As our Senior Product Engineer, you’ll work closely with Product Management, Business Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing to design and develop prefabricated building solutions for current projects and future market needs.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions.

    • Design and develop productized building solutions that address current and future customer needs.
    • Evaluate technical feasibility, optimize structural designs, and resolve manufacturing and assembly challenges.
    • Develop cost-effective prefabricated building solutions, including gravity and lateral systems for semi-custom projects.
    • Design and analyze reinforced concrete and structural steel systems, with a strong focus on seismic lateral force-resisting systems.
    • Join Business Development in client meetings to develop initial structural concepts for prospective projects.
    • Prepare preliminary engineering schematics that support sales pursuits and meet project deadlines.
    • Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and design consultants to align structural solutions with architectural and building system requirements.
    • Transition successful project pursuits to design consultants and internal project management teams.
    • Evaluate how potential building code changes could affect existing and future products.
    • Apply design for manufacturing and assembly principles to improve constructability, efficiency, and product performance.
    • Help project teams resolve technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and meet commitments for schedule, cost, and quality.
    • Share technical knowledge, coach team members, and encourage constructive discussion and creative problem-solving.

    What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a collaborative engineer who brings strong structural design experience, sound technical judgment, and an interest in developing innovative prefabricated building systems. You should be comfortable working with clients, communicating design concepts, and coordinating decisions across multiple teams.

    Required Qualifications

    • Registered Engineer licensure.
    • Minimum of eight years of structural design experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel lateral systems.
    • Ability to design and analyze concrete and steel building systems.
    • Familiarity with applicable building codes and design standards, including CBC, IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI requirements.
    • CAD proficiency and the ability to quickly communicate engineering concepts through sketches.
    • Proficiency with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or Revit.
    • Familiarity with structural analysis software such as RISA, Visual Analysis, RAM, or ETABS.
    • A strong design for manufacturing and assembly mindset.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with internal teams and external partners.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and handle confidential or proprietary information with discretion.

    About Company

Founded as Tecon Pacific in 1963, Clark Pacific started in West Sacramento on a four-acre site with 15 employees. In 1966, James Clark joined the then small firm as its general manager. With the help of many talented and dedicated engineering, plant, and field employees, the company grew rapidly during the pioneering stages of the industry in California. New forming, casting, stripping, finishing, loading, shipping, and erection techniques were being developed throughout the industry, and Tecon Pacific, under Jim Clark’s management, was at the forefront of this development on the West Coast. Today, Clark Pacific is owned and operated under equal partnership between Jim Clark’s sons, Donald Clark and Robert Clark. Like their father before them, Don and Bob are registered engineers dedicated to producing the best quality building solutions possible and pushing the limits of what prefabricated building systems can bring to today’s construction. Clark Pacific has become an industry-leading design-build manufacturer and constructor of complete building solutions and a key partner of owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors throughout California. With its industry partners, Clark Pacific continues to help shape the vibrant urban landscape of the West Coast.
