Senior Product Manager -AI Agents

Actionstep is a pioneer in the development and sale of software-as-a-service (SaaS) products, specializing in the delivery of Legal Practice Management software.  We are a fast growing, dynamic business with a global customer base of more than 50,000 and a team of over 300 in the USA, Australia, UK, Canada and New Zealand​.  ​ 

THE PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE 

As Senior Product Manager – AI Agents, you will own and set the vision for Actionstep's agent roadmap. You will take AI agents from concept to production (01), defining where agents create real value in law firm workflows and turning customer insight into differentiated, value-based products. You will lead product planning, requirements and delivery, and be accountable for product strategy, governance and senior stakeholder communication. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING 

In this role, you will be accountable for… 

• Own and set the vision for Actionstep's agent roadmap, grounded in clear commercial rationale and robust customer insight. 

• Build and deploy AI agents and agentic workflows 01, taking them from concept and prototype into production. 

• Define how agent quality is measured, including accuracy, cost, speed and performance once agents are live, and use those measures to drive the roadmap. 

• Build trust and governance into every agent for legal work, including client confidentiality, audit trails, permissions and appropriate human review. 

• Gather, organize and prioritize ideas and feature requests into initiatives and features, and track progress against the roadmap. 

• Coordinate launches end to end, including testing, documentation, training, rollout sequencing, customer communication and adoption measurement. 

• Design and communicate product enhancements through specs, user stories, wireframes, diagrams and customer-facing documentation. 

• Lead, motivate and develop engineering and design team members within a collaborative, matrixed global organization, translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences. 

• Stay ahead of AI and agent trends by exploring complementary products, meeting with partners and investigating emerging technologies, and work with product research on competitive reviews, customer analysis and market sizing. 

Relationship Management: 

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external parties ensuring transparent, proactive and effective communication always. 

• Attending and proactively contributing to customer, partner and internal meetings with the view to add value in a constructive manner. 

• Lead and actively participate in customer discovery sessions, beta programs, and user research with legal professionals to deeply understand their workflows and pain points. 

• Represent Actionstep at customer-facing events such as webinars and industry conferences, building relationships with legal professionals and translating their feedback into product improvements. 

Professional Development:

• Being a thought leader both within Actionstep but also in the wider industry.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 

Essential: 

• 5+ years of SaaS product management experience building enterprise products. 

• 2+ years building AI/LLM products, including at least one AI agent or agentic workflow shipped 01 to real users in production. 

• Proven self-starter who operates with a high degree of autonomy in ambiguous, early-stage territory, bringing a clear point of view rather than waiting for direction and achieving stretch goals in a fast-paced, cross-functional team. 

• Proven track record of successfully bringing products to market & delivering product features that are aligned with company goals and strategy. 

• Proven ability to bring AI-powered products to market that go beyond generic AI features, with a real understanding of what makes an AI capability defensible and hard to copy. 

• Technical fluency with large language models (LLMs), multi-agent orchestration, tool use, and evaluating agent quality. 

• Expertise in driving product development processes using agile methodologies. 

• Experience in product management tools such as Azure DevOps, Notion, Pendo, Miro. 

• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, experience working closely with design and UX teams, and proven ability to create exceptional user experiences. 

• Strong track record of driving successful product launches within strict timelines. 

• Ability to dig into business or technical problems and find pragmatic solutions. 

• Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, break down objectives into key results & initiatives, deliver value continuously with short and long-term initiatives, and move multiple related & unrelated workstreams forward in parallel. 

• A profound understanding of product lifecycle management, user experience design, and market analysis. 

• Hands-on experience with product roadmap creation, stakeholder collaboration, leading cross-functional teams, and data-driven decision-making processes. 

• Working experience in creating, prioritizing and recommending initiatives and features. 

• Ability to work in a remote environment – travel will be part of the role to successfully engage with the team and participate in cross functional meetings/working sessions. 

• Working knowledge of application performance and analytics, including agent observability and quality metrics. 

• Experience researching, defining and documenting market, product and platform requirements. 

• Strong understanding of customer needs, pain points, and experience with similar technologies. 

Desirable: 

• Exposure to the legal industry (working with lawyers and law firms) is an added bonus. 

• Hands-on experience prototyping with agent frameworks or SDKs.
