    Job Description

At Caris, we understand that cancer is an ugly word—a word no one wants to hear, but one that connects us all. That’s why we’re not just transforming cancer care—we’re changing lives.

We introduced precision medicine to the world and built an industry around the idea that every patient deserves answers as unique as their DNA. Backed by cutting-edge molecular science and AI, we ask ourselves every day:“What would I do if this patient were my mom?”That question drives everything we do.

But our mission doesn’t stop with cancer. We're pushing the frontiers of medicine and leading a revolution in healthcare—driven by innovation, compassion, and purpose.

Join us in our mission to improve the human condition across multiple diseases. If you're passionate about meaningful work and want to be part of something bigger than yourself, Caris is where your impact begins.

    Position Summary

Caris Life Sciences is one of the largest precision-oncology platforms in the world, serving hundreds of thousands of molecular cases a year and growing at double-digit rates. Behind every case is a matched molecular, imaging, and clinical-outcomes data estate few organizations anywhere can rival, and the clinical software that drives the lab's instruments and processes, captures results, and delivers each patient's report. Every report has to be right, complete, and on time; a patient and an ordering physician are waiting on each one.

The Senior Product Manager - Clinical Software Products owns one of those clinical products end to end. Current assignments span order intake and case-lifecycle workflows, the blood-testing platform behind Caris Assure, the genetics interpretation platform clinicians rely on, and clinical-intelligence products such as Molecular Intelligence (MI) Clarity. Each is live, in daily use by people making clinical decisions, and generating revenue. The specific assignment is discussed during the interview process.

The ownership is real: this role drives discovery with clinicians, laboratory operations, and commercial partners; owns the roadmap and the backlog; defines release readiness; and makes the go/no-go call with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams. Adoption, utilization, and outcomes belong to the role as well, and the roadmap answers to that evidence.

The role reports to a Director of Product within Clinical Software Products and joins a product organization growing by design: portfolio-owning Directors of Product, peer Senior Product Managers, and an engineering organization with the capacity to ship. Product managers here help define how product management is done, not only what gets built.

Caris is investing in AI on two fronts that matter to this role: product capabilities that put the data estate to work for clinicians, and an AI-native working environment where advanced assistants and agentic workflows are standard tooling, from discovery synthesis to requirements drafting. Automation belongs on the roadmap as well: where the workflows behind a product still run on manual steps, removing them is product progress.

Much of the portfolio supports regulated clinical workflows subject to SOX financial controls and FDA regulatory requirements. The discipline that comes with that is part of the product craft here: what ships reaches cancer patients, so changes are made deliberately and backed by evidence. Prior regulated-industry experience helps, but it is not required.

Location: Irving, Texas (Dallas–Fort Worth), on-site/hybrid, minimum three days per week on campus; co-located with Caris's laboratory and clinical operations.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Own strategy and a rolling roadmap for an assigned clinical software product, turning company priorities and stakeholder evidence into a sequenced, value-ordered backlog.
    • Drive continuous discovery with the ordering physicians, pathologists, geneticists, laboratory operations, and commercial teams who use and depend on the product; validate problems before they become roadmap commitments.
    • Write product requirements engineering teams can move on: epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria clear enough to build from and complete enough for a regulated environment.
    • Own release definition: scope the minimum viable release, set launch-readiness criteria, and make the go/no-go call with engineering, quality, and regulatory partners.
    • Own what happens after launch: define adoption, utilization, and outcome measures; partner with engineering to instrument them; and iterate or retire capabilities on the evidence.
    • Run the working sessions that keep clinical, operational, commercial, and technical stakeholders aligned, making trade-offs visible and priority calls defensible.
    • Make the case for investment: put the clinical, operational, and business impact of proposed features, technical-debt work, and regulatory change in terms leadership can act on.
    • Build SOX and FDA change-control obligations into product plans from the start, working with quality and regulatory teams so compliance moves at the pace of delivery.
    • Use generative AI as daily leverage in discovery synthesis, analysis, requirements drafting, and product documentation.
    • Prioritize automation of recurring manual steps in the product's operational workflows, and count the manual touches removed as a product outcome.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 8+ years in product management, or equivalent product or program leadership, including ownership of technical or platform-scoped work.
    • End-to-end ownership of a live software product, from strategy and roadmap through delivery and post-release outcomes.
    • A track record of writing structured product requirements (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria) that engineering teams built and shipped.
    • Experience defining and tracking adoption, utilization, or outcome measures and using them to drive product decisions.
    • Experience facilitating alignment across clinical, operational, commercial, and technical stakeholders.
    • Fluency with generative AI tools in product discovery, analysis, requirements, or documentation work.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree, such as an MBA, in a relevant field.
    • Experience in healthcare diagnostics, molecular pathology, clinical laboratory, or life sciences software.
    • Experience in environments governed by FDA, SOX, CLIA, or HIPAA requirements.
    • Ability to translate regulatory or compliance constraints into actionable product requirements.
    • Experience taking a new product or major product line from concept through launch and early adoption.
    • Familiarity with agile delivery frameworks and associated product-management tooling.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at varying levels of technical and clinical fluency.

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.

    Training

    • All job-specific, safety, and compliance training is assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.
