Senior Production Operator

APEX Placement & Consulting has partnered with an established manufacturer of metal roofing and building products looking to add a Senior Operator to its team! In this role, you’ll operate advanced manufacturing equipment, help coordinate production, and train fellow team members while maintaining safety and quality standards. • Overnight shift from 10:00 PM–6:30 AM.

What your day will look like:- Set up and operate specialized manufacturing equipment, including panel lines, roll-forming equipment, and material-handling systems.

• Help coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules and performance goals.

• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, escalating concerns to leadership or maintenance when needed.

• Inspect finished products using measuring tools, drawings, and production specifications.

• Train and support Operators and Technicians on equipment, procedures, safety, and quality requirements.

• Communicate production updates and priorities between shifts.

• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment performance.

• Complete production and training documentation accurately.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures.

• Cross-train in additional production areas and assist where needed.

What we’re looking for:- Three years of experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.

• Previous experience as a lead, senior operator, or trainer preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and measuring tools.

• Experience using forklifts, cranes, hoists, or similar material-handling equipment preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively and help guide fellow team members.

• Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Teams, and digital communication tools.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Technical training in manufacturing, machining, or mechanics and familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S are a plus.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 55 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as needed.

• Comfort working around machinery in an environment that may be loud, subject to varying temperatures, and occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions.

• Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed for training or business needs.
