Senior Production Planner

Our client is a growing manufacturer with a collaborative, team-oriented culture where people work across departments to get results. They are hiring a Senior Production Planner to own the production schedule and keep operations running efficiently. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, technical manufacturing environment, reporting to the VP of Operations, with a clear path into production planning leadership.
What you will do:
- Build and maintain a rolling two-week production schedule based on customer orders, sales priorities and inventory levels
- Set daily production priorities by line and shift, and coordinate work orders with production leadership
- Make sure raw materials and components are available and staged before production, working with the warehouse team to verify inventory accuracy
- Adjust schedules quickly in response to quality, equipment or material issues to minimize downtime
- Partner with Purchasing and suppliers on material planning, including regular supplier meetings, priority and forecast updates, and delivery follow-up
- Support Finance with monthly production forecasts and budgeting
- Coordinate daily with Operations, Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, Maintenance and Quality leadership
- Analyze production performance, maintain accurate documentation of schedule changes, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Learn and follow established ERP processes and SOPs, and recommend process improvements over time
What you will bring:
- 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes; experience in a fast-paced production setting preferred
- Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of daily communication and multiple meetings while keeping priorities on xxzpjkt track
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered
