We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Program Manager for Viasat’s Government Services & Solutions business area, you will lead the execution of complex internal development programs that deliver secure, resilient, multi‑domain connectivity solutions supporting government and military missions worldwide. Your work will directly enable Viasat’s ability to connect users and platforms across air, land, and sea, ensuring reliable communications in highly contested and operationally demanding environments.

You will be responsible for driving projects that span software-defined networking, satellite communications (SATCOM), terminals, antennas, network infrastructure, and managed connectivity services, aligning technical execution with mission and customer requirements.

Success in this role requires the ability to influence diverse technical teams, align stakeholders around shared objectives, and maintain disciplined execution to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements while managing risks.

The day-to-day:
  • Be accountable for end‑to‑end program execution, managing cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk across multiple internal development efforts
  • Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Cyber & Information Security, and Finance.
  • Influence teams and stakeholders who do not directly report to you, driving alignment and accountability in a matrixed environment
  • Plan, track, and report program performance using metrics, milestone tracking, and executive‑level status reporting
  • Manage program risks and opportunities, proactively identifying issues and driving resolution to meet program commitments
  • Ensure programs meet internal development objectives while supporting required certifications, security requirements, and compliance obligations
  • Adhere to Viasat’s project development process (VGate)
What you'll need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 10+ years of multifaceted Program or Project Management experience, including responsibility for cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk management
  • Strong experience leading large internal development programs, particularly software‑centric or systems‑of‑systems efforts
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and reporting
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate within a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, negotiate, and drive outcomes without direct authority
  • Ability to present technical and programmatic information at an abstracted level to senior leadership
  • Familiarity with hybrid Agile / traditional program execution models
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • U.S. Government position requiring U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
What will help you on the job:
  • Experience supporting satellite communications, networking, terminals, or complex integrated systems
  • Background working in government, defense, or other regulated environments
  • Experience supporting certifications, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements
  • Active DoD Clearance
