Senior Project Controls Scheduler

Role Summary / Purpose

Principal Project Controls Specialist - Scheduler & Primavera Subject Matter Expert supporting a Project Management and Construction (PMC) project at a brownfield site in Rowan County, NC. This is an 850 MW Simple Cycle Power Plant Construction project with mobilization occurring in summer 2027 and completion expected in late 2029. This position reports to the Project Controls lead and supports Project Managers and Project Directors. The role will lead and direct the setup and maintenance of the Project Schedule, support site project teams with schedule updates through field observations, track quantities, interact with vendor project staff, evaluate change order impacts, and support regular project status updates. Mobilization to the site is expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Incorporate developmental and implementation details into the schedule once implementation contracts are awarded, integrate with other site work activities, and define implementation baseline dates
• Maintain and update all field implementation work through vendor schedule submittals, manual updates, and direct communication with assigned management
• Develop and maintain site integrated schedule
• Work with Project Teams for emergent and strategic needs
• Develop and generate project controls routine analytics for prescribed communications; perform data collection, verification, validation and analysis; distribute and archive project controls reports; provide presentation quality reports and communications to project and management teams
• Track and manage changes to project scope and schedule impacts; identify, assess, gain approval, and distribute change requests, change notices or change orders in compliance with internal governance standards and contract terms
• Coordinate project controls benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives; coordinate improvement opportunities and adoption of best practices
• Implement systems for creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project schedules, cost estimates, cash flow projection tracking, project change control management, and associated communications
• Collaborate to create estimates describing scope, schedule and cost details for effective project controls baseline management
• Establish effective relationships with customers and project teams to support resolution of project controls issues and requirements
• Provide day-to-day coaching and mentoring of Project Control colleagues and training in project controls aspects
• Lead assigned Project Controls teams in absence of the Site Project Controls Lead
• Support multiple management and project teams of varying size and complexity simultaneously
• Lead or direct communication for portfolio, program and project reviews

Requirements - Education & Experience

• Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance or Business Administration with minimum 6 years related work experience
• OR High School/GED with 10 years related work experience

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills

• On-site field experience observing project progress and tracking performance via schedule updates and field walkdowns
• Experience with Acumen Fuse for schedule analysis
• Experience tracking project resources and quantities using Primavera or other software
• Experience evaluating vendor change orders and time impacts
• Risk management tools and Monte Carlo analysis experience
