Firestone's unique anionic polymerization technology allows production of high purity, high molecular weight polybutadiene and a wide range of block, random, and vinyl modified styrene-butadiene copolymers. These products are sold around the world for use in tires, impact modification of plastics and hot melt adhesives. Statistical process control is used in every step of the operation. Position Summary

The Project Engineering position focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project. A Senior Professional position applies advanced knowledge of a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. A background win Controls and DCS systems would be preferred!

Responsibilities

• Leads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervision
• Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals
• Supports continuous improvement/automation activities
• Prepares project plans, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new project deliverables
• Monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
• Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources necessary to complete the project
• May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors
• Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Supports continuous improvement/automation activities
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
