About the Opportunity

A leading Midwest electrical contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee large‑scale electrical and low‑voltage construction projects across commercial, industrial, transportation, aviation, water/wastewater, multifamily, and public‑sector markets.

This role is ideal for an experienced project leader who thrives in complex environments and is motivated to grow into managing a high‑performing team of approximately 10 project and field professionals.

What You’ll Do

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of electrical and low‑voltage construction projects—from planning through turnover.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, manpower allocation, and project controls with precision.
  • Review drawings, coordinate submittals, manage procurement, and maintain complete project documentation.
  • Ensure all installations comply with safety standards, quality expectations, NEC requirements, and applicable codes.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor project managers, assistant PMs, and field supervisors to strengthen overall project delivery performance.
  • Support the build‑out of a scalable project management structure, preparing to lead a team of up to 10.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and professional growth.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, GCs, engineers, inspectors, and agency partners.
  • Lead progress meetings, site reviews, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships that result in repeat work and strong partnerships.

Financial & Contract Oversight

  • Own project P&L: forecasting, cost‑to‑complete analysis, and monthly billing cycles.
  • Manage subcontractor scopes, negotiate change orders, and ensure adherence to contract requirements.
  • Monitor costs for labor, materials, and equipment to maintain profitability and schedule commitments.

Risk, Quality & Safety

  • Identify risks early and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Support and enforce company safety programs and OSHA compliance.
  • Perform regular site visits to ensure quality, progress, and adherence to specifications.

Preferred Systems Experience

  • Spectrum (ERP, job costing, accounting)
  • Accubid (estimating)
  • BidToWin (bidding, project management)
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools and construction project management systems

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of electrical construction project management experience.
  • Proven success delivering complex projects across one or more markets (commercial, industrial, municipal, aviation, transit, water/wastewater, multifamily).
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, limited‑energy systems, switchgear, MV distribution, lighting, and life‑safety systems.
  • Excellent communication, team leadership, negotiation, and client engagement skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop emerging project management talent.
  • Strong scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration capabilities.
