Senior Project Manager
Location: Hammond, IN
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our client's team in Hammond, Indiana. This role is responsible for leading complex, multi-discipline projects from initial concept through engineering, procurement, construction, and final startup. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations.

This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while mentoring team members and maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to review project requirements, define scope, and develop project strategies.

  • Lead the development of project deliverables and coordinate with internal teams to prepare accurate estimates and proposals.

  • Manage and administer projects from conceptual design through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and startup.

  • Lead project kickoff meetings and coordinate engineering activities across all required disciplines.

  • Direct and manage project scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring alignment with client objectives.

  • Oversee and mentor project engineers and project staff to support successful project execution.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring proper prioritization and resource allocation.

  • Review and approve client invoices while overseeing project estimates, schedules, and reporting.

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation within internal systems.

  • Prepare and manage project transmittals and documentation required for project delivery.

  • Conduct internal and external meetings throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment across stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and proactively communicate project updates, risks, and changes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve project processes, efficiency, and delivery performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).

  • 10+ years of experience in project engineering, project management, or related engineering leadership roles.

  • Proven experience managing large or complex engineering and construction projects from inception to completion.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience guiding multi-discipline project teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and senior leadership.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Experience managing multi-discipline engineering teams and complex project schedules.

  • Experience working with industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure-related projects.
