Summary

Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of large, complex, multi-disciplinary utility projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction. The ideal candidate will operate with minimal supervision and provide leadership across cross-functional teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Lead execution of approved project plans, ensuring alignment with safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk objectives.
  • Coordinate acquisition of resources including personnel, equipment, permits, land, and land rights.
  • Monitor and control all aspects of project performance and communicate status, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
  • Manage project changes and ensure all objectives are achieved within defined constraints.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to develop and evaluate project alternatives.
  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive project plans, including scope, cost estimates, schedules, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Integrate considerations such as safety, environmental impact, regulatory compliance, land use, procurement, communication, and risk management into project planning.
  • Build and lead cross-functional project teams, coordinating efforts across engineering, construction, operations, environmental, procurement, legal, and other business units.
  • Support development and administration of long-term capital investment plans.
  • Negotiate, execute, and manage agreements with customers, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Oversee project close-out activities including final deliverables, financial reconciliation, audits, and reporting.
  • Mentor and support the development of less experienced project management and project controls personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in utility design, engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of project management experience, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of utility engineering practices, particularly transmission and substation design.
  • Experience with project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder coordination
  • Familiarity with construction methods, contract administration, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., scheduling, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Experience managing Large Generator Interconnections is a plus
