Our client is a full-service engineering, procurement and construction firm known for its integrity and reliability, achieving project-wide efficiency and economies of scale.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager – Refinery Capital Projects with extensive experience managing EPC projects within operating refinery facilities. The role involves overseeing engineering deliverables, coordinating stakeholders, managing project costs and schedules, and serving as a liaison between refinery management and the EPC organization. Candidates with previous in-plant refinery project management experience are strongly preferred over those with exclusively greenfield construction management backgrounds.

Job Description

• Lead and oversee refinery engineering and capital improvement projects from initial scope development through execution and closeout.
• Serve as a primary point of coordination between engineering teams, and contractors.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and overall execution performance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities, including civil/structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation.
• Review project estimates, engineering deliverables, schedules, and execution plans.
• Identify project risks, resolve technical and scheduling conflicts, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee project progress and ensure compliance with refinery safety standards, quality requirements, and established procedures.
• Facilitate project meetings, provide progress updates, and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction interfaces to minimize disruption to ongoing refinery operations.
• Manage project changes, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

Skills Required

• 10+ years of project management experience within oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities preferred.
• Strong experience managing EPC engineering and capital projects in an operating plant or refinery environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of engineering design processes, construction coordination, project controls, and cost management.
• Proven ability to interface directly with refinery owners, plant management, and engineering stakeholders.
• Experience reviewing project schedules, engineering deliverables, estimates, and progress reports.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain accountability for overall project performance.
• Willingness to work on-site in Corpus Christi, Texas.
• Previous experience supporting other major U.S. refining operators.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent small-to-medium capital projects within operating refineries.
• Familiarity with refinery Management of Change (MOC) processes, permitting, and operational interfaces.
• PMP certification.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and common EPC project management systems.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
