Description

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Client's team.

Detailed Description:

  • Plans, documents and executes all phases of the project lifecycle, including scope management, cost management, resource management, requirements management, work breakdown schedule and timeline management, priority and dependency management, project integration planning, vendor management, and the assignment of roles and responsibilities
  • Develops detailed work breakdown schedules, project estimates, and resource plans that support scope and risk management. Conducts and facilitates effective project meetings, including issue tracking, status reports, and executive communications. Implements change, quality and performance management processes to control scope and monitor project progress. Ensures problems are effectively escalated and crisis management activated, as needed
  • Acts as an advocate, by providing first class service through development of the project management discipline; lends subject matter expertise and knowledge management to the project team and stakeholders; and ensures customer satisfaction through quality and timely product delivery.
  • Implements a quality management process and ensures user training is planned and effectively executed
  • Champions change, process, and best practices to team members
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead multiple concurrent, cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation and transition to operations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Drive project governance, decision-making, and executive reporting.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and executive presentations.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage third-party vendors, system integrators, and consulting partners.
  • Oversee vendor contracts, statements of work (SOWs), deliverables, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations and KPIs.
  • Coordinate contract renewals, amendments, and change requests.
  • Escalate vendor performance issues and negotiate resolutions.
  • Partner with Procurement and Legal throughout the contracting lifecycle.

Program Coordination

  • Coordinate work across business, technology, operations, security, and external vendors.
  • Manage project interdependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Lead integrated planning for testing, training, data migration, deployment, and organizational readiness.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage issue logs, RAID logs, decision logs, and action items.
  • Escalate critical risks with recommended solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build relationships with executive sponsors, business leaders, and technical teams.
  • Communicate project health, risks, decisions, and milestones to leadership.
  • Influence without direct authority across multiple organizations.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of 6 years related experience
  • Strong, analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate business processes and recommend effective solutions
  • Business acumen with strong written and verbal communication skills, including social media experience
  • Exceptional organizational, time management and project management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of project development life cycles, including the ability to manage complex and changing priorities, coordinate and prioritize multiple projects without difficulty to get the job done
  • Collaborative, flexible, adaptable and resourceful
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture and understand how the details relate to the overall mission and growth strategy of the organization
  • Ability to coordinate issues identification and resolution between various clients groups
  • Experience with estimating, scheduling, and tracking projects from beginning to completion
  • Experience with at least one project development methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong Excel and Powerpoint skills

Project Management

  • 8-10+ years of enterprise project management experience.
  • Experience leading large, complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Expertise in project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Strong understanding of PMO methodologies and governance.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.

Vendor Management

  • Extensive experience managing third-party vendors and consulting partners.
  • Experience negotiating project deliverables and timelines.
  • Knowledge of contract management, SOWs, SLAs, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to hold vendors accountable for contractual commitments.

Leadership

  • Proven ability to lead high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to influence executives and stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Communication

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to executive leadership.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
  • Strong facilitation skills for workshops and decision-making sessions.
