    Job Description

    Senior Psychiatrist

A Calling Beyond the Clinic: Why Your Next Chapter Could Be at CoreCivic

At CoreCivic, we believe that healing doesn’t stop at the clinic door—and neither does your impact. We’re not just managing facilities; we’re transforming lives. And right now, we’re looking for a dedicated, mission-driven Psychiatrist to join us in that mission.

Imagine a place where your clinical expertise becomes a lifeline. Where your leadership shapes the future of mental health care for individuals who need it most. Where every day brings the opportunity to make a difference—not just in one life, but in many.

This isn’t your typical psychiatric role. It’s more. It’s a chance to lead a comprehensive mental health program inside a secure facility, providing care, stability, and hope to those navigating some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

As a Psychiatrist at CoreCivic, you’ll do more than prescribe and diagnose. You’ll guide a team, mentor staff, and help shape policy. You’ll provide direct care, participate in civil commitment proceedings, and ensure that every patient receives the dignity and attention they deserve. You’ll be the cornerstone of a program that values compassion, structure, and clinical excellence.

You’ll also have the chance to:

    • Lead and coordinate mental health services across the facility
    • Provide individual, group, and family counseling
    • Supervise and support mental health staff
    • Monitor psychotropic medications and treatment plans
    • Collaborate with medical and administrative teams
    • Respond to crises with calm, clarity, and care
    • Help individuals understand and overcome emotional and social challenges

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, values teamwork, and wants to make a tangible impact. It’s for the psychiatrist who sees beyond the diagnosis and into the human story behind it.

At CoreCivic, we support our team with competitive compensation, full benefits, and a culture that values integrity, service, and leadership. You’ll be part of a community that believes in second chances—and in the power of mental health to change lives.

If you’re ready to bring your skills to a place where they truly matter, we invite you to explore this opportunity. Join us, and be part of something bigger.

Because at CoreCivic, we don’t just care for people—we believe in them.
