Overview
We are looking for a diverse set of talented and focused people to accelerate the delivery of useful quantum computers. Microsoft has an internal program pursuing topological qubits for large-scale quantum computing. We are also working closely with a growing list of companies to advance quantum computer systems at every layer of the stack and bring them to market on the Microsoft Quantum accelerator platform. We believe Artificial Intelligence (AI) can accelerate both the creation of useful quantum computers and bring-in the timelines for their realization. The Quantum Design team at Microsoft is seeking a Senior Quantum Engineer to design and simulate next-generation quantum processing unit (QPU) chips, advancing scalable quantum computing based on topological qubits. You will design chip components, including wiring and interfaces that integrate with control and readout layers, and collaborate with experts in systems design, fabrication, packaging, and control.
What we're looking for:
You bring experience in quantum device design and radio-frequency (RF) simulation, familiarity with integrated circuit design workflows and tool development, and a passion for advancing quantum computing. Clear communication and effective interdisciplinary collaboration are central to this role.
At Microsoft, our mission-to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more-guides how we partner with customers to deliver trusted, impactful solutions. With a growth mindset culture, we innovate responsibly and measure success by shared progress-people, teams, and customers. Join us to do meaningful work that changes the world and helps shape what's next for everyone.
