Job Description

The purpose of this position is to recruit prospective students and to promote Texas State in the greater Houston area. This position participates in all aspects of recruitment, both in Houston and on campus. The candidate must reside within the greater Houston area.

Expected activities include but are not limited to visits to high schools and community colleges, presentations, admissions events, and communication with students, parents, and counselors.

The Houston Regional Senior Admissions Counselor position requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Preparing recruitment reports
  • Reviewing admission applications and recommending decisions
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must reside in the greater Houston area
