Senior Retail AI Solutions Specialist

The Senior Retail AI Solutions Specialist will be responsible for identifying, designing, testing, and scaling AI-enabled solutions that improve the performance and effectiveness of our frontline teams. This role serves as the bridge between store operations, field leadership, business teams, and technical teams.

Success in this role starts with understanding the reality of life in our stores. You will spend time with associates, sales managers, store managers, and field leaders to understand challenges, identify opportunities, and help translate those opportunities into practical AI-enabled solutions.

This is not a software engineering, data science, or AI development role. You will not be responsible for writing code, building enterprise technology platforms, or managing technical infrastructure. Instead, you will help define business problems, design user experiences, create AI workflows and prompts, test solutions, drive adoption, and measure business outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President of Retail Strategy and Innovation, this role will help shape and execute Bob's Retail AI roadmap while partnering closely with Operations, IT, Business Intelligence, Training, Finance, Marketing, and field leadership.

What You'll Do:

Discover Opportunities

• Spend time with associates, store leaders, and corporate partners to understand how work gets done and where opportunities exist to improve performance and simplify processes.
• Identify opportunities where AI can help improve sales results, customer experience, associate productivity, operational consistency, coaching effectiveness, and decision making.
• Gather feedback from frontline teams and convert business needs into actionable solution concepts.
• Develop and maintain a prioritized pipeline of AI opportunities.

Design Practical Solutions

• Translate business challenges into AI-enabled workflows, tools, and experiences.
• Design prompts, instructions, conversations, workflows, and guardrails that help AI tools produce useful and reliable outputs.
• Partner with technical teams to ensure solutions align with company standards and architecture.
• Evaluate solutions from the perspective of end users and continuously improve the experience.

Lead Pilots and Adoption

• Launch and manage pilots with stores and business teams.
• Collect feedback and identify barriers to adoption.
• Refine solutions based on real-world usage and results.
• Develop communication and training approaches that help associates and leaders build confidence using AI.

Drive Business Results

• Define success metrics and expected business outcomes.
• Measure adoption, effectiveness, and return on investment.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Help move successful solutions from pilot to enterprise-wide implementation.

What You'll Bring

Required Experience

• Five or more years of experience in retail operations, business transformation, product management, process improvement, analytics, sales enablement, innovation, technology adoption, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to identify business problems and design practical solutions.
• Experience working directly with frontline employees, field leaders, customer-facing teams, or distributed operations.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect initiatives to measurable business outcomes.
• Experience leading projects that involve multiple stakeholders and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

AI and Technology Experience

• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, decision making, customer experience, or business operations.
• Understanding of how prompts, workflows, instructions, and knowledge sources influence AI outputs.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated results and improve solution effectiveness through testing and iteration.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technology and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in retail or another frontline-intensive industry such as hospitality, telecommunications, healthcare, banking, field services, or consumer services.
• Experience supporting sales organizations or customer-facing teams.
• Experience with customer experience, store operations, sales enablement, coaching, workforce management, CRM, or related business systems.
• Experience leading pilots, change management initiatives, or enterprise adoption efforts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, generative AI tools, automation platforms, or similar technologies.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys spending time with associates, understanding how work gets done, and solving business problems. They are comfortable discussing opportunities with store managers in the morning and collaborating with technical teams in the afternoon.
