Senior Roadway Design Engineer

As a Senior Roadway Design Engineer, you will lead and manage the design of roadway engineering projects for state highways and municipal infrastructure, while also engaging in client relations and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate transportation projects for state and county clients.
• Collaborate and coordinate tasks across different disciplines, ensuring project budgets are monitored.
• Lead the design process for preliminary and final roadway projects.
• Perform quality control reviews and ensure work aligns with quality management practices.
• Prepare project documentation, including reports, studies, contract documents, and permit applications.
• Mentor and provide oversight to junior staff.
• Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and the public as necessary to facilitate project progress.
• Assist with training and development of engineering staff.
• Participate in business development, including supporting proposal creation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• At least 8 years of experience in transportation design as a Civil Engineer.
• Proven experience developing construction plans and documents using AutoDesk Civil3D.
• Demonstrated ability to produce technical project documents, including studies, reports, specifications, permit applications, and cost estimates.
• Strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with increasing levels of responsibility within the Civil Engineering field.
• Proven ability to manage projects, teams, and specific tasks.
