Senior Sales Executive, Performance Media

Avenue Z is seeking a high-performing Senior Sales Executive, Performance Media to drive new business growth across performance-focused media and digital marketing services. This role is designed for a consultative seller with a proven record of winning business, developing senior-level relationships, and connecting media strategy to measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience selling performance media solutions—not simply general advertising or marketing services—and can confidently lead conversations about paid search, paid social, programmatic, retail media, conversion optimization, measurement, and related growth initiatives. This person will own the sales cycle from prospecting through close, partner closely with internal strategy and delivery teams, and help clients understand how performance media can support revenue, customer acquisition, and growth goals.

What you’ll do

• Build and manage a qualified pipeline of prospective clients through targeted prospecting, referrals, networking, partnerships, and strategic account research.
• Lead the full sales process, including discovery, qualification, solution development, proposal strategy, presentations, negotiation, and close.
• Sell performance media programs and related digital marketing solutions based on client objectives, audience needs, measurement requirements, and growth opportunities.
• Develop trusted relationships with senior marketing, growth, ecommerce, and executive stakeholders.
• Translate client business challenges into clear, compelling solutions that connect media investment to measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal media, strategy, creative, analytics, and account leadership teams to build accurate, differentiated proposals and scopes of work.
• Present recommendations with confidence to both marketing practitioners and executive decision-makers.
• Maintain disciplined CRM practices, accurate forecasting, and clear visibility into pipeline health, deal stage, expected close dates, and revenue potential.
• Negotiate commercial terms and help structure engagements that support client value and sustainable company growth.
• Identify opportunities to expand relationships through additional channels, services, markets, or strategic initiatives.
• Stay current on performance media trends, platform changes, measurement developments, privacy considerations, and evolving client needs.
• Represent Avenue Z with a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and commercial judgment.

What you bring

• 7+ years of successful B2B sales experience in performance media, digital advertising, media agency services, or a closely related field.
• A demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and closing meaningful new-business opportunities.
• Direct experience selling performance media services such as paid search, paid social, programmatic, retail media, CTV/OTT, conversion optimization, analytics, or integrated media programs.
• An established network of marketing, growth, ecommerce, and/or executive contacts is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of media planning, activation, attribution, measurement, and the connection between marketing activity and business performance.
• Experience managing complex, consultative sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and meaningful budgets.
• Excellent discovery, presentation, storytelling, negotiation, and written communication skills.
• Commercial curiosity and the ability to understand a client’s business model, competitive environment, customer journey, and growth priorities.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with strategy, media, creative, analytics, finance, and operations teams.
• High ownership, strong follow-through, and the ability to operate independently in a growth-oriented environment.

Preferred experience

• Experience selling to mid-market or enterprise organizations.
• Experience in an agency, consultancy, ad technology, or performance marketing environment.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, sales forecasting, proposal development, and revenue operations processes.
• Experience developing executive-level relationships and influencing multi-person buying committees.
• Experience contributing to sales enablement, packaging, pricing, or go-to-market initiatives.

Compensation

• Job type: Full-time
• Base annual salary: $120,000 to $125,000 per year
• Total compensation potential: $200,000+ with commissions, equity incentives, and benefits
