Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Four years of progressively responsible professional administrative experience in construction management, engineering, or architecture to include supervisory experience are required. A State of Florida Contractors license is preferred.

Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification and such other procedures as may be mandated by Federal law. The security clearance required by Federal law is a continuing condition of employment.

Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced and results-oriented leader as the Sr. Section Chief of the Construction and Outreach Division. This individual will be responsible for providing direction and guidance to MDAD Project Managers, coordinating, and supervising the work of professional, technical, clerical, consultant employees and tenants engaged in construction management activities at Miami International Airport (MIA) and the General Aviation Airports (GAAs).

The Senior Section Chief will manage the Maintenance Construction Section which comprises of a divisional staff of approximately 12 employees while delivering extensive knowledge of construction methods, procurement and contract administration policies and procedures, specifically, as they apply to the Aviation Department's Miscellaneous Construction Contracts, County 7040 and 7360 contracts, County Professional Services Agreements (PSAs), Equitable Distribution Program (EDP) consultant agreements. The incumbent will be responsible for Construction General Building Renovations (GBR) Projects, including emergency projects, all Capital Projects which is a growing portfolio including the MIA Terminal Restrooms Renovations, Terminal Wide Re-roofing, Structural & Electrical Rehabilitation, and Concourse H Glazing Curtain Wall Rehabilitation.
