Job Title: Senior Software Engineer 969
Location: Downey, CA 90242
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Assignment type: Temporary - 12 months w/ high chance of extension or hire
Pay rate: $70-$75/hour

Description:

Lead development, enhancement, and support of multiple County applications serving hundreds of users.
Manage application support, stakeholder projects, and collaboration across teams.
Apply expertise in object-oriented programming, client-side scripting, and database development.
Manage multiple development projects using Agile methodology.
Development: Proficient in C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 8+, Java, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, or React; experience with databases, REST APIs, and secure, scalable web applications.
Agile Project Management: Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira, writing user stories, managing priorities, and tracking project metrics and KPIs.
Database & ORM: Design, query, and optimize relational databases and complex schemas.
Application Migration: Analyze codebases, map data models, and manage phased migrations while maintaining functionality and data integrity.
Containerization & DevOps: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, CI/CD pipelines, and Git version control.
General: Work independently and collaboratively, manage tasks from start to finish, solve problems, communicate effectively, and stay updated on new technologies.

Qualifications:

5+ years of application development experience within the last 7 years using object-oriented languages ( .NET, Java, Ruby on Rails), client-side frameworks (JavaScript, React, jQuery), mobile development (.NET MAUI, React Native), Swift, and relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
1+ year of professional Git experience, including branching strategies.
2+ years developing, enhancing, and supporting BI reports using Power BI, Crystal Reports, or Cognos.
3+ years of Agile experience within the last 7 years, including sprint delivery, stakeholder demos, standups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
1+ year providing onsite technical support for Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
