Senior Software Engineer, AI Products

About the Role

Join a small, senior team building AI-powered financial intelligence products. You will turn manual accounting workflows into reliable backend systems, applying an experimental approach to high-stakes product engineering.

What You'll Do

• Build and operate agentic AI systems, including orchestration and tool use, for customer-facing production features.
• Develop pipelines that transform messy financial data into structured models and useful insights.
• Own product work end to end, from understanding user needs and shaping technical strategy to deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Design and run rigorous evaluations to measure the quality and impact of AI-powered outputs.
• Automate accounting workflows through dependable backend services.

What We're Looking For

• Five to 15 years of experience building and operating production backend systems, with strong Python skills and senior-level engineering judgment.
• Professional experience shipping AI or ML applications to production, including agentic or LLM-driven systems that use tools, APIs, documents, or databases.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing, testing, operating, and improving APIs, integrations, pipelines, or distributed systems.
• Experience evaluating probabilistic AI outputs and working hands-on with models.
• End-to-end ownership of ambiguous product or systems work, with the ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and results clearly.
• Experience in both a rigorous engineering environment and a setting with substantial individual ownership, such as a startup or small team.
• Strong relational database fundamentals, success coding professionally in at least two languages, and familiarity with financial or accounting workflows is beneficial.
• Effective collaboration in asynchronous, writing-focused teams.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
