Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Network

The Secure Network Systems team is an interconnected series of small teams, giving immediate visibility within the group while carrying the resource support of a large company. The group also supports security and cybersecurity needs across the company, where physical products, tools and initiatives can have impact across worldwide usage. You will join a software development team that designs, refactors and maintains code for existing and upcoming features across one or more product lines, meeting a stringent set of security design and testing standards. As updated standards are released they deploy across a variety of products and must account for competing constraints.

Can support out of either Carlsbad, CA, tempe, AZ or Marlborough, MA, Tampa, FL and Linthicum Heights, MD

What You Will Do

• Design, develop and integrate high speed scalable network software, including protocols, device drivers and the data plane
• Perform cybersecurity software and systems engineering
• Work on embedded systems software engineering
• Work as part of an agile multidisciplinary development team that helps clarify requirements
• Continuously support development, integration, automation and test of the final product through certification

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years using C/C++ in embedded environments
• 10+ years with network software design and development
• 7+ years with Linux OS, ideally in an embedded environment
• Proven work with the Linux network stack and writing Linux kernel modules
• Demonstrated work with networking protocols including TCP/IP, IPSec, MACsec and TLS
• Object oriented software development
• Agile Scrum development
• Ability to plan, track and report on progress
• CI/CD software
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• U.S. Government position. U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Ability to travel up to 10%

• DPDK, network applications and services, and acceleration
• Xilinx environment including Vivado and Petalinux
• Bare metal embedded device drivers
• Microprocessors and embedded processors such as NIOS, ARM or RISC-V
• Multiple threads and real time development
• RESTConf interface design and implementation
• Emulation environments
• Python
• Standalone embedded applications
• Working on multi disciplinary teams
