Senior Software Systems Engineer (Hybrid)

We're hiring a Senior Software Systems Engineer to join our team in Richmond, VA. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with 3 days in office/2 days remote.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Must be able to work on a W-2
• 5 years of relevant professional experience in a directly related field
• In-depth experience in programming or systems analysis desired
• Experience in adapting and applying rapidly changing technology to business needs
• Demonstrated ability to seek out and understand customers' issues and business needs
• Demonstrated ability to handle deadlines and pressure
• Conceptual thinking and reasoning abilities
• Demonstrated competency in logical and analytical thinking
• Demonstrated decision-making ability
• Demonstrated competency in identifying and solving problems
• Demonstrated ability in utilizing multiple tools to solve problems
• Demonstrated ability to perform as a technical expert in the field

Key Responsibilities:

• Helps lead the development of applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards
• Work closely and help lead other software engineers and team members to understand the system end-to-end and perform system analysis
• Help define scope along with analyzing, designing, configuring, and developing the business logic and backend systems
• Independently complete the work needed to implement features from the product backlog
• Work closely with Product/Business Owner to understand stories and requirements from both business and technical perspectives
• Communicate with Product/Business Owner, Engineering Lead, UI/UX Designer or Scrum Master/Project Manager to ensure stories/tasks are delivered on schedule

Education/Certifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Required
• Preferred: B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

The hourly rate for this position is $69.53.
