Senior Software Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Direct participation as an integral team member performing key roles in test planning, strategy and design, execution, software engineering processes, and product quality recommendations.
• Reviewing, editing, and generating various documents for engineering and testing purposes per industry standards.
• Learning from senior test engineers while mentoring less experienced test engineers.
• Frequent communication with software developers and other team members.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree
• Four years of relevant technical experience with a BS degree or two years with an MS degree.
• Proven experience in software testing on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Track record of implementing automated software testing solutions.
• Automated testing experience on embedded systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in software development using C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership and government customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies.
• Familiarity with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, MIL-STD-882e, DO-178C and/or DO-278, RMF).
• Ability to work across multiple products developed by small teams.
• Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles and application.
• Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices technology.
• Knowledge of guidance & control algorithms, navigation systems, mission planning systems (NOMS, JMPS), and sensors.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
• Proficiency with testing MATLAB/Simulink generated code.
• Understanding of hardware-software integration and software systems engineering principles.
• Agile Scrum Master experience.
