Role Overview The Senior Specialist, Data Governance, is responsible for executing data consistency, data quality and data protection within the data governance framework. This role reports to a Senior Manager, Data Governance, and will be part of a team that focuses on operational effectiveness, maximizing data value and business process improvements. This position will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure organizational data compliance, data integrity and data-based outcomes. Duties & Responsibilities Data Governance and Implementation Assist in the development and execution of data governance policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with the organization's data governance framework Assist in the selection of data governance solutions by participating in research, RFI/RFP processes and hands-on testing Support the maintenance of data governance tools and technologies to ensure high-quality, consistent, and secure data across the organization Adhere to all data governance standards, policies and processes; adhere to all enterprise-relevant policies (e.g. Compliance, HR, IT, Legal) Contribute to an atmosphere that embodies an enterprise team culture and proactively contributes to process improvement, measurable success and pragmatic change management Collaborate with business units, IT, and data management teams to gather requirements, address data governance-related queries, and provide guidance on best practices Act as a point of contact for data governance-related inquiries and provide support to stakeholders in understanding processes and ensure adherence to established policies and standards Data Quality Management Implement, operate and audit data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent data management practices across the organization Monitor and improve data quality through solutions that improve visibility, reliability, security and scalability Assist in the identification of data quality issues and collaborate with data stakeholders to provide remediation plans and solutions Participate in data quality improvement initiatives, including data cleansing, validation, and enrichment activities Collaborate with Compliance, Legal and IT teams to audit and ensure data compliance per the data lifecycle (CRUD) Create, review and update data artifacts (e.g., data dictionaries) on a quarterly or as-needed basis Ensure data processes are executed and the outcomes are regulatory and company compliant Support the compliance efforts related to data privacy regulations, industry standards, and internal data governance policies Assist in conducting data governance audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions Data Governance Reporting Develop and maintain KPI-based data governance reporting including, but not limited to data governance activities, data quality issues, and compliance status Assist cross-functional teams with data-driven reporting and reporting issue resolutions Provide input and recommendations to improve data governance processes and tools based on data governance metrics and feedback Training and Advocacy Facilitate Data Governance Committee meetings to make decisions on data dictionaries, policies, standards, and data-related issues Execute communication and change management procedures to ensure all stakeholders are appropriately aware of data governance committee decisions Deliver training and communications to educate employees on data governance best practices and promote data-awareness throughout the organization Assist in the training program and material development as needed Experience & Qualifications Education Level: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Data Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field 5 years + experience in: Data governance and data management executing the implementation of standards, policies and processes Experience participating in cross-functional data governance projects Experience collaborating with adjacent data-centric organizations Software/Technical Skills Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Tableau, MS Power BI or equivalent reporting software Data warehouse, data lake and data integration system knowledge Microsoft Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM), Smartsheet, or equivalent Project Portfolio Management (PPM) knowledge Preferred Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent development / management software Preferred SAP S/4HANA or equivalent ERP software Preferred Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Strong understanding of data governance approaches and best practices Demonstrated ability creating and improving data policies and standards Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify data quality issues and recommend solutions Excellent communication, presentation skills, and collaboration skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders at multiple levels Demonstrated success working in ambiguous environments with minimal direction Ability to manage multiple simultaneous initiatives within defined timeframes Proven ability managing successful data-centric projects to completion Demonstrated ability to teach and train stakeholders Additional Details for This Role This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by your manager. #LI-Hybrid Base Salary The targeted base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $136,000 year. Base salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate, as well as factors such as internal equity, cost of labor in the hiring location, and alignment with market data. Additional Compensation This position is eligible for a 5% bonus at 100% of target, with the opportunity to achieve above 100% dependent on company performance and in alignment with company bonus plans. Bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon individual performance as well as Brother achieving its corporate objectives, in accordance with the applicable bonus plan in effect. About Where We Work Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard.
