Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview

We're partnering with a growing organization that is looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant to its finance team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning general ledger activities, contributing to financial close processes, and improving accounting operations. The role offers the opportunity to work across multiple areas of accounting, including payroll, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while collaborating with teams throughout the organization.

Location: Boca Raton, FL (Hybrid)
Compensation: $80,000–$95,000, based on experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• 
  
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• 
  
• Perform bank reconciliations and record treasury and cash transactions.
• 
  
• Maintain payroll accounting, including recording payroll activity and reconciling related balance sheet accounts.
• 
  
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for quarterly and year-end reporting.
• 
  
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation and analysis.
• 
  
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial initiatives.
• 
  
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting deadlines.
• 
  
• Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen accounting procedures.
• 
  
• Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 
  
• 3–5 years of experience in general ledger accounting within public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.
• 
  
• CPA designation or active pursuit of a CPA license is preferred; a Master's degree is a plus.
• 
  
• Experience working with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, BlackLine, or comparable accounting platforms.
• 
  
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
