Senior Staff Accountant – Residential Construction

About the Role

A well-established and growing residential home builder is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their team. This position will play an important role in supporting both corporate and project-level accounting, with a strong focus on construction draws, loan documentation, general ledger management, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and track construction loan draw requests in coordination with project teams and lenders

• Maintain accurate and organized loan and project documentation

• Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis

• Prepare monthly financial packages and internal reporting

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

• Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and properly documented

• Work closely with project and operations teams to support the financial management of active residential construction projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within residential construction, home building, or a related construction environment

• Hands-on experience with construction loan draws, draw processing, and construction finance

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations

• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or construction-specific accounting software

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
