Senior Staff Accountant

Compensation: $72,00-$83,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team on a temporary basis. This individual will play a key role in supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, accounts receivable activities, financial reporting, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can quickly contribute with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including:
  
  • 
    
  • GR/IR reconciliations and clearing
  • 
    
  • Intercompany account reconciliations
  • 
    
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable reconciliations
  • 
    
  
  
• 
  
• Prepare month-end journal entries, including unbilled Accounts Receivable analysis and related entries.
• 
  
• Maintain and update trial balance mappings.
• 
  
• Cross-train on Accounts Receivable billing processes to provide support during month-end close.
• 
  
• Assist with post-close Accounts Receivable activities, including:
  
  • 
    
  • Contacting customers regarding outstanding balances
  • 
    
  • Updating collection statuses
  • 
    
  • Identifying potential bad debt accounts
  • 
    
  • Assisting with bad debt write-off recommendations
  • 
    
  
  
• 
  
• Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages.
• 
  
• Assist with the annual Workers' Compensation Audit.
• 
  
• Collaborate with the accounting team on special projects and process improvements as needed.
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 
  
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• 
  
• Experience supporting Accounts Receivable processes and collections.
• 
  
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is highly preferred.
• 
  
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• 
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• 
  
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision.
