The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. This position serves as a key contributor within the accounting team, providing advanced financial analysis, mentorship to junior staff, and support for strategic financial initiatives across multiple entities.
Essential Responsibilities, Authorities and Expectations

Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
Perform complex general ledger account reconciliations and analysis.
Prepare and review financial statements for assigned entities.
Analyze financial results and provide management with meaningful insights and recommendations.
Prepare and review monthly profit and loss analyses.
Support annual budgeting and business planning processes.
Monitor and maintain strong internal controls and compliance procedures.
Review and approve sales and use tax returns.
Reconcile and balance daily cash activity across multiple bank accounts.
Prepare daily cash reporting and cash flow analysis.
Review bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with external audits and annual financial reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies.
Support ERP system enhancements and accounting process improvements.
Serve as a resource to accounting staff and assist with training and development.
Assist Accounting Manager with special projects and strategic initiatives.
Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and complex transaction issues.
Prepare weekly and monthly margin reports.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
