Senior Staff Accountant

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Senior Staff Accountant job in Wilmington, MA. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the aerospace and defense industry. In this role, you will be responsible for managing general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, inventory accounting, month-end close, and tax compliance activities. In order to be successful in this position, you must have five plus years of relevant accounting experience along with strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and sales tax requirements. Preference will be given to someone with experience with Odoo, Concur, inventory and landed cost accounting, and intercompany transactions.

Senior Staff Accountant Job responsibilities:

• Record and reconcile bank transactions, journal entries, inventory receipts, manufacturing orders, transfers, and sales orders.
• Manage the full accounts payable cycle in QuickBooks, from invoice coding and approvals to payment batches, and serve as primary contact for vendor inquiries.
• Prepare customer invoices, review AR aging, and follow up on overdue accounts to support timely collections.
• Maintain purchase orders from Odoo in QuickBooks, review Concur expense reports, and allocate shipping, duties, tariffs, and landed costs.
• Support month-end close, review account reconciliations, and assess prepaid, fixed asset, and intercompany balances.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns and 1099s, and maintain vendor W-9 records.

Qualifications:

• Five plus years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online
• Strong knowledge of sales tax requirements
• Experience with AP, AR, inventory, and month-end close
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

This contract Senior Staff Accountant job is based in Wilmington, MA. The hourly pay rate for this role ranges from $40.00 - $50.00, commensurate with experience. Contractors working through Aquinas Consulting are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, medical indemnity coverage, a 401(k) plan, and biweekly direct deposit pay. Contract roles do not include PTO unless required by applicable state laws.
