JOB DESCRIPTION
Role focus: SAP MDM/MDG processes for customer, vendor, material, business partner, finance, and enterprise master-data governance.
Position Summary
The role of the Senior Support Engineer, SAP MDM/MDG is to provide exceptional remote-based support for mission-critical SAP applications as part of our global customer support team.
The role requires deep SAP Master Data Management and Master Data Governance expertise, integration knowledge, data-governance experience, and the skills to diagnose and resolve issues in complex, highly integrated environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Solve complex customer issues using methodical troubleshooting based on expert knowledge of SAP MDM, SAP MDG, and enterprise master-data processes.
Provide remote-based functional support and training for SAP MDG and related SAP solutions.
Support customer, supplier/vendor, material, business partner, finance, and custom-domain master-data governance processes.
Troubleshoot data models, change requests, workflows, validations, derivations, duplicate detection, consolidation, mass processing, and data-quality controls.
Support business-rule framework, BRF+, workflow routing, approvals, governance structures, and stewardship processes.
Analyze integration issues involving S/4HANA, ECC, CRM, SRM, Ariba, SuccessFactors, BW, EWM, TM, third-party systems, APIs, and middleware.
Investigate data replication, syndication, distribution, key mapping, staging, and synchronization issues across enterprise landscapes.
Develop application break fixes for critical product defects and data-quality issues.
Create scripts and diagnostic approaches to identify, analyze, and correct master-data issues.
Manage one or more key assigned accounts as a technical and functional adviser.
Experience
10+ years of relevant SAP experience, including substantial hands-on expertise in SAP MDM, SAP MDG, or enterprise master-data management solutions.
Deep working knowledge of master-data governance processes and data-lifecycle management.
Experience with Customer, Supplier, Material, Business Partner, Finance, and custom MDG domains.
Experience designing and supporting data models, workflows, validation rules, duplicate-check frameworks, and governance processes.
Experience supporting central governance, consolidation, mass processing, and master-data quality initiatives.
Experience with ERP master data, data migration, data cleansing, harmonization, and enterprise data governance programs.
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver, MDG architecture, data replication frameworks, APIs, interfaces, and middleware.
SAP certification preferred.
Skills
Superb troubleshooting skills and tenacity in problem solving.
Strong knowledge of SAP MDG data models, workflows, business rules, staging areas, replication mechanisms, and governance frameworks.
Deep knowledge of SAP customization, extension methodologies, and master-data architecture.
Ability to analyze complex data-quality, process, integration, and governance issues.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of multiple SAP modules and releases and their master-data dependencies.
Experience with SAP Data Services, migration projects, data-quality initiatives, and enterprise information governance.
Experience supporting large-scale global master-data transformations and mergers.
Knowledge of retail, manufacturing, consumer products, distribution, finance, and supply-chain data models.
Experience with cloud, on-premises, and hybrid SAP landscapes.
Success Profile
The strongest candidate combines deep SAP MDG/MDM configuration and production-support expertise with a practical understanding of how master data flows across an enterprise landscape. The engineer can isolate whether an issue originates in governance processes, business rules, workflows, data models, integrations, infrastructure, or data-quality defects and guide the client to a sustainable long-term solution.
