Location: Boston, MA 02201
Duration: November 2026 December 2027
Contract: (14 months)

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to design, build, and improve the platforms our teams use for portfolio management, reporting, analytics, and workflow. You'll work with product owners, business stakeholders, and software vendors to deliver reliable, scalable solutions across platforms like Targetprocess, Tableau, Snowflake, and Alteryx.
This is a hands-on senior role - part platform engineering, part data engineering, part problem-solver. If you enjoy translating business needs into clean technical solutions and keeping critical systems running smoothly, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and deploy platform enhancements and new capabilities
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations across enterprise systems
  • Configure and troubleshoot REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON data mappings
  • Design and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, views, and data models
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, procedures, and reporting structures
  • Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and Alteryx workflows
  • Administer platform access: user provisioning, roles, permissions, and security controls
  • Troubleshoot defects, integration failures, and production issues drive them to root cause
  • Partner with software vendors and support teams to resolve issues and evaluate platform capabilities
  • Create automations and scripts (JavaScript, JSON) that reduce manual effort
  • Document technical standards, procedures, and implementation practices

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in platform engineering, software engineering, data engineering, or analytics engineering
  • Advanced SQL development skills
  • Deep experience with enterprise APIs - reading docs, authenticating, mapping data, and troubleshooting errors
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON payloads
  • JavaScript and JSON for scripting, automation, and configuration
  • Experience administering enterprise applications (provisioning, access management, role administration)
  • Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Nice to Have
  • Targetprocess administration (configuration, workflows, permissions, access controls)
  • Snowflake, Tableau, and/or Alteryx experience
  • Identity and access management tools (SSO, SailPoint, Okta, or similar)
  • Jira and Atlassian products
  • Python for automation
  • Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
  • Experience partnering with software vendors on support cases and platform evaluations
