Senior Tax Accountant

Salary: $70,000.00 USD Annually - $90,000.00 USD Annually

The Senior Tax Accountant drives critical tax provision, compliance, and reporting activities while partnering closely with leadership to support strategic tax planning. This role blends analytical depth with cross‑functional collaboration to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and excellence across all tax operations.

This is a hybrid role in Philadelphia, PA - 3 days a week in office.

Responsibilities:

·         Assist with GAAP provision calculations, data gathering, reporting, and disclosure.

·         Assist with SSAP 101 provision calculations, data gathering, reporting, and disclosure.

·         Support the GAAP and STAT tax accounting process.

·         Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local corporate tax returns, quarterly estimates, and extensions.

·         Assist with tax planning initiatives and special projects.

·         Liaise with external providers to support complex tax matters.

·         Support IRS and state audit responses.

·         Maintain technical proficiency through approved continuing education courses.

·         Ensure tax compliance across all assigned areas.

·         Assist the Director of Tax and the Tax Managers with assigned duties within the department.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MS in Taxation is a plus).

·         CPA or currently pursuing a CPA.

·         4+ years’ experience in Big 4 Public Accounting or a large corporate tax department.

·         Strong experience with provisions is required.

·         Strong experience with state and local income tax.

·         Experience applying the principles of ASC 740, 740‑10, and related controls.

·         Experience with OneSource Income Tax and Provision and/or other tax‑related software.

·         Experience with SAP Fixed Asset Software and/or similar tools.

·         Understanding of GAAP and statutory tax accounting guidelines and provisions.

·         Solid working knowledge of tax accounting concepts, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in varied situations.

·         Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with demanding deadlines.
