Description

Leading local firm looking for a self-motivated Senior Tax Associate to join their growing team. They are committed to hiring a highly motived individual who is looking to enhance their career path and make a lasting impact. Essential Functions of the Senior Tax Associate:

  • Prepare and file state and local sales and use tax returns, including compilation and analysis of financial data
  • Performing a detailed technical review of state and local indirect tax returns
  • Maintain and update sales tax return worksheets and procedures
  • Assisting with drafting new proposals for new and existing clients.
  • Respond to sales tax inquiries raised by internal customers and taxing jurisdictions
  • Register, renew and cancel state, county, city and local sales tax permits
  • Develop and maintain sales tax knowledge relating to laws and regulations in assigned states
  • Identify process improvements and cost savings opportunities
  • Assist with training of new team members

Job Requirements of the Senior Tax Associate:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field
  • CPA Certification, additional specialty certifications a plus
  • 2+ years of proven experience in a Senior Tax Associate role
  • Ability to utilize firm technology
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion and desire to be in public accounting and ability to look at the full picture of clients’ needs
  • Some travel may be required
