Job Description:

We're growing rapidly and are looking for a Senior Technical Operations Data Analyst. The Senior Technical Operations Data Analyst leads complex research and analysis that improves aircraft maintenance performance, station readiness, operational reliability, and leadership decision making. This role transforms maintenance, operational, workforce, safety, and cost data into trusted performance measures, executive ready insights, forecasts, and decision support products. The Senior Analyst partners with station leaders and cross functional Technical Operations teams to define analytical questions, validate data and metric logic, identify performance drivers, develop scalable dashboards and models, and translate findings into practical actions that reduce aircraft downtime and improve operational execution.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Lead research, data mining, statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing to identify drivers of aircraft maintenance performance, reliability, station readiness, delays, cancellations, aircraft damage, labor utilization, and other Technical Operations outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain executive ready dashboards, scorecards, forecasts, deep dive analyses, and recurring performance products that enable leaders to understand trends, exceptions, risks, and opportunities.

  • Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to define metrics, business rules, calculation logic, thresholds, and success measures; validate results before release and resolve data quality or interpretation issues.

  • Analyze station level performance and constraints, including workload, staffing, training, parts, facilities, schedule characteristics, and operational conditions, to support comparisons, readiness assessments, and targeted improvement actions.

  • Develop forecasting, optimization, and machine learning solutions that support maintenance planning, schedule performance forecasting, labor demand, reliability analysis, and proactive identification of operational risk.

  • Use Python, SQL, R, Alteryx, Tableau, and approved data platforms to prepare data, automate repeatable analysis, create visualizations, and deliver reproducible analytical products.

  • Apply aircraft systems knowledge, aviation safety principles, maintenance processes, and ATA chapter frameworks to structure analyses and interpret maintenance events accurately.

  • Lead root cause and process analyses by combining quantitative evidence with operational input, clearly documenting assumptions, limitations, findings, and recommended actions.

  • Translate complex analysis into concise narratives, visualizations, and recommendations for Senior Leadership, station leaders, and cross functional partners.

  • Coordinate analytical work from intake through implementation, including requirements, prioritization, data access, development, testing, user validation, release readiness, documentation, training, and post release measurement.

  • Provide technical guidance and quality review for analysts and delivery partners; promote consistent analytical methods, metric governance, documentation, and source control practices.

  • Partner across Maintenance Operations, Engineering, Reliability, Planning, Workforce, Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Technology, and other teams to move insights into sustained operational improvements.

  • Lead continuous improvement and change management efforts that strengthen adoption of performance tools, close the loop on identified issues, and improve station level execution.

  • Maintain compliance with Company, airline safety, data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee Leaders.

What You'll Bring:

  • Expert ability to structure ambiguous operational questions, select appropriate analytical methods, and deliver defensible conclusions and recommendations.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with strong working knowledge of R, Alteryx, Tableau, or comparable analytics and visualization tools.

  • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis, forecasting, optimization, seasonality, experimental or hypothesis based analysis, and model evaluation.

  • Ability to develop and govern operational KPIs, including metric definitions, calculation logic, data lineage, validation controls, and exception handling.

  • Ability to integrate, clean, reconcile, and analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple maintenance, operational, workforce, safety, and financial sources.

  • Ability to create clear, intuitive dashboards and executive ready presentations that connect performance signals to operational context and decisions.

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations, aircraft systems, aviation safety, reliability concepts, and ATA chapter structure.

  • Ability to collaborate with station personnel, technical subject matter experts, data engineers, developers, and Senior Leaders.

  • Ability to manage multiple analytical workstreams, communicate risks and dependencies, and deliver high quality work in a changing operational environment.

  • Ability to explain model assumptions, uncertainty, limitations, and appropriate use to technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Ability to lead process redesign and change adoption while maintaining effective working relationships and a service oriented approach. Experience

  • Required: Demonstrated experience applying advanced analytics to complex operational or business problems and delivering recommendations to leaders.

  • Required: Advanced hands on experience with SQL and Python and experience producing dashboards or visual analytical products.

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered where permitted

  • Preferred: Three years of aviation industry or aircraft maintenance analytics experience.

  • Preferred: Experience with Databricks and AWS services such as Redshift and SageMaker.

  • Preferred: Experience with predictive maintenance, operational forecasting, optimization, KPI governance, and station or network level performance analysis.
