    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Position Title:            Server                                    Reports To:   Food and Beverage Manager / Restaurant Supervisor

    Department:              Restaurant                               Date:               March 2025

    Position Summary:

    Responsible for providing high quality service to guests while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

    Supervision Received:

    Supervision is received from the Food and Beverage Manager or Restaurant Supervisor.

    Essential Functions:

    • Knows timing and preparations of all food and beverage menu items.
    • Maintains good service times.
    • Performs opening and closing duties.
    • Attend required meetings.
    • Takes food and beverage orders, rings them into Micros correctly and delivers them in a timely fashion.
    • Ensures guests are of legal drinking age through checking identification.
    • Adheres to State liquor rules and regulations.
    • Anticipates the guest’s needs.
    • Performs payment handling (i.e., cash, credit, promo coupons, etc).
    • Completes check out for all tickets and payment received at end of shift.
    • Busses and resets tables.
    • Complete side work (to include stocking dishes, silverware, folding napkins, wiping down counters, posting specials, etc.)
    • Ensures that work station is set up in an orderly and timely fashion.
    • Complies with all policies and procedures set forth by the Columbia Gorge Hotel Employee Handbook.

    Secondary Functions:

    Performs all other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Food Handler’s Card and OLCC Permit.
    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
    • Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shift.
    • Ability to carry and balance plates, trays, etc.
    • Knowledge of complete table setting.
    • Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
    • Ability to work as part of a team.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to read and follow both verbal and written instructions.
    • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

    Working Conditions:

    This position requires the ability to perform those activities necessary to complete the essential functions of the job, either with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Lifting:           5% / up 40 lbs.

    This is a tipped position as well as being part of service charge pool when working banquets. Columbia Gorge Hotel provides free luncheon with 6 hours of working shift, health insurance and PTO for those who qualify .
