The Washington House is hiring experienced servers to join our team. The staff at the Washington House take pride in offering caring, knowledgeable hospitality and excellent food in a high energy, positive work environment. Server responsibilities:
- Engage with each customer to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
- Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage menus and special events
- Set up properly to ensure maximum efficiency when busy
- Take beverage and food orders and enter into POS accurately
- Follow all restaurant protocols for "Washington House" service
- Look for positive solutions to inevitable difficult situations
- Prepare checks and collect payment from guests
- Clean and sanitize appropriate areas in dining room and kitchen to make sure each shift starts with a clean work space
- Work cooperatively with all front of house, back of house, hotel and theater staff to maintain a positive work environment at all times
Server requirements:
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast paced environment
- Availability to work varied hours/days
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to lift and carry heavy plates, boxes and dining room tables and chairs when necessary
- All of our servers work weekdays and weekends, and a combination of lunch and dinner shifts
